BIG GOLDEN FALLS FREEZE TURNS TO WATER OVERNIGHT !

Not a Skier to be seen !

Not a Skier to be seen !

This is what it looked like today, Monday, December 27th. From a frozen ice covered Golden Falls lake surrounded by knee deep snow to a regular wet Winter’s day at the Club. Fortunately, no damage has been done – apart from a very damp Clubhouse. Melting ice can drag out the Slalom Buoys but so far they look OK. The remaining ice is just at the Ramp and moving towards the the Ballymore end.

Figs took photos of the big snow and we will have these for you shortly. They should be worth keeping for our Golden Falls History Book.

‘One other change !  The colony of White Geese has now fully settled in to their island at our Stone Bridge and they have added a bit of colour to a gloomy winter scene. They are supposed to be great watchdogs but if you are bringing the kids down for a walk, treat these guys with respect as they can be contrary !
