The Gate to Golden Falls Fun on the Water

The Gate to Golden Falls Fun on the Water

We are almost there – and already the days are longer and sunshine has arrived early. Here is a quick update for all our Golden Falls Members and we look forward to seeing you all soon. Don’t forget that you can also follow us on FaceBook. In fact we have two FaceBook pages to be sure to be sure !

  • As we know, Daryl is now back from training in the USA – and is also attending the University of Limerick Coaching Ireland Course funded by our Federation and supported by the Irish Sports Council. He will complete the Course at the end of April and can then qualify Club Coaches at official level.

  • We have been in regular contact with the ESB for some months concerning the details of our new Lease, our Solicitor has approved the documents today and hopefully all will be finalised shortly – thanks to the work of Figs, Donal and Des.

  • Next on the agenda will be some site work. We have a plan with our site neighbour to erect fencing on both sides of the stone bridge. Daryl is in contact there and we hope to carry out this work in the middle of April. This is also required by the ESB.

  • The ESB have agreed to fence off our LPG Tank and this work will also be carried out shortly.

  • Des has completed our latest Risk Assessment documents and they will be posted on our Clubhouse Notice Board for all to see. A copy will also be sent to the ESB for their files. All Members need to be aware of the contents so please make a point of reading these when you are down at the lake.

  • Daryl and Des are working on a painting and wallpapering schedule. We are waiting for the Clubhouse to dry out a bit more and then we will start the freshening up exercise. All are very welcome to help in the Spring Cleaning also – and we will keep you up to date on that shortly.

  • We will need to update our Club Constitution this year – long overdue – and will do this at our AGM – a date to be advised as soon as we are back at the Lake.

Lastly, we need a new Fridge !  Our old one did not survive the cold winter. Is there any chance that you might have one sitting in your garage which needs a new home ?  If so, please call Daryl as soon as you can. Money is tight and every little help counts.
