COW CATCHERS GETTING SPRUCED UP FOR ACTION

OUR BEMMAN JUMP RAMP GETTING SOME TLC BEFORE LAUNCHING

For those who may not know what a COWCATCHER is, let us explain. It has nothing to do with COWS 🙂

When our Jumpers are cutting to the Jump Ramp out there on the lake, if they just happen to misjudge their final approach and end up heading for the side portion, to help avoid injury, we hang an angled side panel from the Ramp surface to prevent the Skier from going under the structure and to deflect the Jumper off the structure. This is an essential part of the overall design. Fortunately, it is rarely needed but this is an EXTREME SPORT and safety is important at all times. To balance the entire floating Ramp, we hang another Cowcatcher on the offside.

Here you can see a closeup of one of the Cowcatchers waiting for it’s clean and paint job.

Do come down and see the final assembly at the weekend – and make sure you bring your camera 🙂
