SAD LOSS OF NOEL CAUTLEY Man of many talents, great Athlete in his day, Swimming, Running, Rugby, Sailing, Waterskiing and Horse riding.

All in our sport were greatly saddened this week to hear that Noel Cautley, father of Carl, Michele, Steven and Mark (deceased), had passed away. Noel and his entire family were and are still part of the long history of Waterskiing in Ireland. From messing with boats and skis in the early days at Seapoint and Dun Laoghaire to great events and fun and competition at Golden Falls WSC, Noel and Shirley made the most of life and their family. As with Noel, all excelled at whatever sporting test they set themselves and clearly Dad set a high standard at everything he did.

Noel was born 1933 in CastlePark Road in Glenageary, County Dublin. He was a member and captain of Golden Falls WSC between 1974 to 1984. He was also a Committee member of the Irish Water Ski Association as it was then. During his distinguished professional career, he worked at O’Keeffee’s Advertising Agency, one of Ireland’s industry leaders, most of his working life (35 years).  Noel was awarded a fellowship in 1972 and won the prestigious McConnell Award in 1979. He retired in 1993 aged 59.

Married to Shirley, they had four children, Carl, Michele, Mark (deceased 2007) and Steven – and eight Grand Children, Josh, Luc, Kai, Willo, Jasmin, Charlotte, Zofja, Naoise.

We offer our condolences to all the Cautley family.

May Noel Rest In Peace
