WORLD & EUROPE/AFRICA CHAMPIONSHIPS IN SEGRATE MILAN ITALY

Geoff Clarke in Segrate today

Geoff Clarke in Segrate today

Golden Falls Skier, Geoff Clarke, made it to the World Jump Finals today. This event combines both the 35+ World Championships and the Europe/Africa Championships. The site in Segrate is very well organised. Rain in the first few days put a bit of a damper on the atmosphere but today was perfect – hot sunshine and a head breeze for the Jumpers.

With 7 Jumpers making it through to the 55+ World Jump Finals, including Geoff Clarke, all struggled to get big distances. Top of the pile was Ham Wallace USA with a distance of 38.7m. Geoff led the field at the early stages with a distance of 34.7m. He has done enough to make Sunday’s Europe/ASfrica Finals but he just missed today’s World Podium by one place.

Watch this space for further updates as the Irish Team has performed very well and currently lies in 7th place out of 34 Countries – even with a depleted Team.

Congratulations to Geoff.
