The annual pilgrimage to Cray valley / Hazelwood’s Ski World still attracts some of the best Skiers in the World. This year was certainly no exception. Included in the line-up were our own Geoff Clarke and Daryl Higgins. Geoff entered the 55+ category and Daryl the 35+ Category. Both have shown steady improvements over the Summer and both have also come back from various injuries. Thankfully, their recovery looks good.

This Three Round Jump event – with SplashEye of course, was outstanding for several reasons. Firstly, both Geoff and Daryl actually won their Categories. Geoff scored one of the longest distances for the 55+ in the World this year with 38.5m.  Daryl broke the 40m barrier to land 40.4m. Congratulations to both Geoff and Daryl on a great performance. Geoff will now head for Italy for next week’s World 35+ Championships and we will have direct reports here for you during the week.

As if that was not enough excitement for one weekend !

June Fladborg DEN is well known to us at Golden Falls – as she has trained with us and Ray Stokes over the years. Having got within a 1.0m of the 2002 56.6m World Record set by Elena Milakova / Thomsen just a week earlier, this time she landed 57.4m – for a new pending World Record. Let’s hope that Hazelwoods had all the boxes ticked on that one. This was history in the making.

The Open Men finished off the day with some outstanding performances also – Ryan Dodd CAN took the top slot with 71.3m and young Zack Worden USA was very close behind with 71.2m.  What a weekend !
